Uncle Dickie's Box Calls  My box calls are all hand-made sawn and glued of the finest materials. I currently make three standard calls of my own design. The difference in the calls' materials affects the quality of the tone of the call. My standard design is Walnut Bottom, Mahogany Sides, Walnut Ends, and assorted woods for the Lids. I have found the combination of Purple-Heart Lids with Mahogany Box to have the finest voice with a slightly higher, raspier pitch that gobblers go for. My other lids are Mahogany, and Walnut. I like to say that the Purple Heart is a Cadillac,because of the material and excellent tone it makes. I consider my other calls more like a Chevy - excellent calls and great sounding, but with less exotic wood. I do have other woods available and can make a custom call upon request. Each of my boxes are individually handmade, and hand-tuned in my shop - I do not have a "production line". So if you are looking for an excellent hunting call at a great price - look no further.
